65% youth population- Compliment or Crisis?

The country takes pride in having 65% of youth in its population with this being said at major ceremonies in and out of the country. Making this situation and number a wholesome credible thing to rejoice, what needs to be pondered upon first is whether the 65% youth population meant a compilement or a crisis.

There are steps in the right direction, such as the Indian government’s Start Up India initiative to boost entrepreneurship; the launch of the Skill India mission; the establishment of a dedicated Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; the establishment of industry-led sector skills councils, and the overhaul of the Industrial Training Institutes.

These pretty assets will be considerable only if executed and implemented well enough. With the MHRD constantly bringing many incentives for the students to grow, like the ‘Right to Knowledge’ campaign with free courses straight from the IITs, it is no doubt that the majority do not get a differential outcome. While that may not be the case in technical aspects, subjects which are dooming into the list of minorities are going unchecked infront of the priorities. Outdated or insignificant syllabus in school curriculum, schools lacking the basic needs of the students and all the weed at the ground level are unfortunately not being thought of. With as many as 900 government schools to be closed in Odisha, the mainstream national media chooses to ignore the subject just like it did after cyclone Fani hit the state.

The modern youth at this tender age falls prey to many of the atrocities of the modern world such as unguided career choices, uncounselled degree courses and altogether on a large scale, it deems inefficient for the environment to feasibly grow. When such situation rises, it comes with its own side effects and aftermath.  Owing to this outcome in the workplace, many enthuisiastic employees readily go for job-switches around the industry of a largely populated zone. Cities like Chhenai and Bangalore heavily see this trend in the IT sector and stay prepared accordingly. Like the atrocities of the employed mass, the unemployed similarly see certain outcomes. Provoking by crime enthusiasts, politicians, and if nothing, then ultimate level of timepass is something degrading the environment of India in every possible way.

With the huge employment and skill crisis, together with the newly proven to be disastrous- water crisis, create a huge impact globally when it comes to the way of life. Unfortunately, we cannot get back on a time machine and set things right, when population wasn’t much high, resources and manpower was enough to control the impeding dangers of scarcity, and most importantly division of lands claiming separate states and governance. Let’s enjoy life, have cake facials on birthdays, go to cinema on voting day, isolate young minds until they crack IIT/Medical, consume all sorts of depression followed by all sorts of drugs. Then we can stop debating on temples and mosques, make each a drug storage and pray Lord Pablo till the end of life. India always kept losing its rich heritage and there is no fix to it in the present scenario. Peace, pass me the liquor, such divine!
